With the overhaul of a 100+ year old logo came the realization that Mutual of Omaha not only needed a better way to find assets, but a more wholistic creative process.
I was tasked with leading the project MABEL (Mutual's Asset and Brand Enterprise Library) from conception to implementation. This project consisted of dense taxonomy and metadata restructure, process improvements and change management, and enterprise wide introductions, user testing, and training.
As the only Digital Asset Librarian in the company, it was up to me to program our DAM solution (powered by Tenovos) from top to bottom including security, metadata templates, cascades, and asset types.

The challenge was pairing both legally compliant requirements with business requirements from creative designers, who often prefer aesthetics over functionality. I was able to marry both camps and achieve adoption of the solution through a change management program that began shortly after the initial contract was signed. By creating a volunteer champion program that kept end user involved in the creation process of our DAM solution from the ground up, I was able to achieve a happy medium that provided in depth metadata for both compliance and our designers.
